The Prince of Mist. 3.5 stars. Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Best Thing: Dreamlike atmosphere and pacing. Worst Thing: No lasting effect. Nothing really stood out enough to make this a great book.

Spookiness: 5/5 Ghosts.

Spooky elements: clowns, living statues, eternal evil, monsters, clowns, mysterious children, haunted pasts, freaky poltergeist activity, the list goes on, and did I mention clowns?

Good for: young adults (male and female), regular adults looking for something shorter than a Stephen King novel.
